It has been reported today that the Wii Balance Board (used in Wii Fit) can take a weight limit of up to 136kg. So all the ‘jolly’ gamers out there will still have to use the gym.
According to Aussie-Nintendo, Nintendo has announced this via some documentation, and perhaps explains producer Shigeru Miyamoto’s comment from earlier in the year. He said at the time, “We’re going to launch in Japan first and get feedback and decide if we need to make something that’s American-sized. We may need to super-size!” Although he added, “Ideally we’d like to release one size Balance Board worldwide.”
Super size me!
Hate to sound like a bully or something but is a larger balance board really necessary? I mean the average adult is 85 kg, and 136kg is only a guide line so it could maybe even hold 140-50kg?
And also if Nintendo only wants to release one size a board over compatibility the 136+ would not be compatible with users under that limit, too heavy… … I personally don’t think it’s such a big deal.
