Wondering what those awesome looking figurines are on the left? Well, what you are looking at, is an exclusive peek at the first release in a series of limited edition, official Nintendo Super Mario figurines, hitting Australian shores very soon.
Working closely with Nintendo in the U.S.A and Japan, Goldie Marketing, official worldwide distributor of the figurines, has developed a new series of officially licensed, high quality Super Mario figurines. The collection of twenty-five figurines spans across all of the popular Super Mario characters from Nintendo’s videogames.
The range includes iconic characters such as Mario, Luigi and Donkey Kong, as well as some of the more obscure inhabitants of the Mushroom Kingdom. Every figurine in the collection is an intricately detailed, 3D, to scale, representation of the real character. The production is strictly limited on each character, making every figurine a collector’s piece.
The project itself has been the culmination of over two years hard work, and the first million pieces are exclusively for the Australian, UK and European markets.
Goldie Marketing Managing Director, Stephen Goldsworthy, says:
The timing could not be better for us with the huge, worldwide success of the Nintendo Wii.
…
This is the first time ever that Mario and the gang have been accurately reproduced as scale figurines. The interest from retailers worldwide has been overwhelming and we expect to sell over ten million collectible figures world wide from the Super Mario Family range in 2008.
The first series of Super Mario collectibles, releasing this month (April ‘08), will be a collection of six different characters, with the three remaining series due for release during 2008, each consisting of another another six Super Mario figurines.
The collectibles were released officially in Australia last week (April 4th) at the Australian Toy Fair. Kmart, Game and all good Game Traders stores released the figurines nationally over the weekend just passed, with Target and Toys ‘r’ Us having the characters on their shelves this coming weekend. Toyworld, along with many other independent toy and collectors stores across the country will have them in stock soon also.
So, for all you collectors out there, there is no better time to buy into a piece of history. These figurines aren’t named limited edition for nothing, so get in to your local supplier quick, and take advantage of this brilliant offer.
Remember, these figurines are the only ones of their kind in the world, and are a testament to the Super Mario franchise. A true collectors piece, for collectors and Nintendo fans alike.
