The Nintendo Press Conference began with NOA Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Cammie Dunaway, delivering a short speech about people’s connection to videogames. Shortly after this, Dunaway announced New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii. Bill Trinnen from Treehouse then came out on stage to play and talk about the upcoming Wii title. The footage Trinnen showed of the game seemed very similar to its DS counter-part. The game will feature a single player mode and a multiplayer mode. After Trinnen had discussed the basics of New Super Mario Bros. for Wii, three Nintendo staff members came out and took on Cammie in a game. Cammie ended up losing and stated, “this is why I make my living selling games, rather than developing them”. After this, Trinnen and company walked off stage and Dunaway announced Wii Fit Plus. Cammie then ended her first segment of the show with a few Mario puns and walked off the stage.

After this, NOA President Reggie Fils-Aime came out and discussed Wii MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort. Trailers of the accessory and title were played in the background during his speech, with some of the footage revealing new sports in the Wii Sports Resort such as Kayaking, Sky Diving and Archery. Bill Trinnen then came back out on stage to demo Archery. After this, Bill and Reggie went head to head in another of the game’s minigames, Basketball. Reggie won and Bill left the stage in embarrassment. The Regginator then went on to announce that Tiger Woods PGA 10 and Sega’s Virtua Tennis would come bundled with the Wii MotionPlus, also mentioning that Red Steel 2 won’t be playable without it.
