Capcom have announced that they are currently remaking the first game in the MegaMan Battle Network series for the Nintendo DSi, in celebration of the character’s 25th birthday.
MegaMan Battle Network (called Rockman EXE in Japan) was the first game in a series of spin-offs based on the MegaMan franchise. Originally released for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, the game differs from other MegaMan titles in that it is an action role-playing game instead of a platforming shooter.
Details are still scarce on the specifics of the remake, with some claiming that it will actually be an entirely new game designed to reboot the franchise.
Currently entitled “Rockman EXE Operation Shooting Star”, the game is scheduled for a release in Japan later this year.
