Retro Studios has recently confirmed that old save files from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will not be compatible with the upcoming Metroid Prime Trilogy. The lead game designer at Retro Studios, Mike Wikan, has announced: “Due to the way the game data is allocated for production and the changes that we made in the source code, we were unfortunately unable to carry over the save file compatibility from MP3 to Trilogy.”
Metroid Prime Trilogy includes all three games from the critically-acclaimed series, the first two enhanced with a widescreen mode and Wii remote controls, in a special metal box with a special concept art book. The US release date has been confirmed as August 24th, but the Australian release date is still unknown.
