According to reports from retailers, the two latest versions of Pokémon (HeartGold and SoulSilver) sold almost 1.5 million units in Japan during only the first two days of release.
HeartGold and SoulSilver are enhanced remakes of Pokémon Gold and Silver, which were originally released for the Game Boy Colour back in 1999. The games allow players to capture a range of “older” species of Pokémon that were previously unavailable in the newer games belonging to the series.
Changes made to the original versions include plenty of audiovisual enhancements, as well as utilising the DS touch-pad during gameplay. Australian gamers won’t be able to get their hands on HeartGold or SoulSilver just yet, however, with no English release of the title expected before 2010.

It’s amazing how after all these years the series is still a license to print money.
Just think, when the sequel to the DS comes out they’ll probably release a 3D version as well causing millions more to impulse buy!
Pokemon in 3D? How original! Haha good luck to old Ninty!
