Here’s the latest wrap-up of some of the most recent content to hit the Nintendo Channel on Wii.
First up is a trailer for Fossil Fighters, an upcoming strategy-RPG title for DS/DSi handhelds. The trailers showcases several gameplay elements, including using the DS touchscreen to (wait for it) clean fossils. Once cleaned the fossils spring to life (good thing that doesn’t happen in the real world) and battle each other. Based on similar premise to the Pokémon franchise, would-be dinosaur hunters will undoubtedly be be rushing out to buy this one.
Also for the DS is a trailer of the newly released free Flipnote Studio title, that allows DS owners to take notes, draw pictures, organize themselves with the in-built calendar functions and, most importantly of all, create animated “flipbook” style animations and send them to their friends. Flipnote Studio was released as a free download in Australia on August 14th.
You can also check out the Mario: Unforgettable Moments television spot and it’s good to see the portly plumber getting some of the advertising time that he deserves. After that there’s a fairly amusing video showcasing the opinions of Wii Sports players from all over Europe as they recount their hands-on experiences with the sequel, Wii Sports Resort.
