Ubisoft have unveiled some new details regarding the Wii version of the next installment in the Prince of Persia series, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. This will see the return of the Sands of Time era Prince and will bring with it a new story with new characters and powers.
So far we can expect to see the Prince doing what he does best, which is to say that players will be using the Prince’s acrobatic abilities to traverse the environment, solve puzzles and combat enemies. Somewhat intriguingly Ubisoft have stated that the Prince will have the ability to manipulate sand to “create your own path”.
The most promising aspect of this game is that Ubisoft have stated that the Wii version of the game has been built from the ground up for specifically for the Wii. If the screenshots are anything to go by, it will be worth it. It already appears to be up there as one of the best looking Wii games to date. Hopefully the gameplay and controls will match this standard.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is currently scheduled to ship May 13, 2010. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is also shipping May 2010 for the Xbox 360, the PS3, the Nintendo DS, the PSP and PC.
