Nintendo has announced plans to unveil a new handheld, given the temporary name of Nintendo 3DS. The announcement appeared on Nintendo’s Japanese website.
The new handheld will allow players to experience ‘3D effects without the need for any special glasses’. The 3DS also promises backwards compatibility with DS and DSi titles.
More details will be announced at E3, so we’ll have to wait until June 15 for more information.
So I’m guessing this is the true successor to the DS?
Finally. I was gonna get a new DS Lite cos my one’s kinda dying, but now I might as well just wait for this one. Can’t be too long of a wait…
I get what you mean by DS Lites dying. My directional buttons are starting to not respond well
So is this the one that’s as powerful as a GameCube and has a motion sensor in it? Or are Nintendo actually planning to release two DSs in one year?
My keypad and screens are fine, it’s the casing. It’s breaking and cracking like craycrayz! It has trouble opening and closing haha. Hate it..
The bottom right corner of my DS lite doesn’t sense anything anymore, so it is good to hear that this new handheld will be backwards compatible.
