The upcoming Mario Kart game for 3DS was shown off again at this year’s Nintendo press conference and boy did it deliver a few surprises. It seems Nintendo will be adding a customisation feature to the game in an attempt to shake up the mechanics of the long-running series. Based on the video footage and screenshots shown, there’ll now be underwater and flying segments, as well as the ability to add monster-truck wheels to your kart when you’re playing on off-road tracks. Coins will also make a return.
Check out the images and video footage below.

For now, the 3DS version of Mario Kart is due out at the end of this year.

Only thing is, is it meant to be in HD? Looks pretty basic to me. :/
@Matt
Pratt it’s only E3 changes can still be made.
I do realise that, but major graphical overhauls are not usually on the list of post-E3 fixes.
Wow! It looks like they have changed the game a lot. But it looks cool.
I wonder how it will compare up to Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Wii hmm
