Nintendo Announces 3DS

Nintendo has announced plans to unveil a new handheld, given the temporary name of Nintendo 3DS. The announcement appeared on Nintendo’s Japanese website.

The new handheld will allow players to experience ‘3D effects without the need for any special glasses’. The 3DS also promises backwards compatibility with DS and DSi titles.

More details will be announced at E3, so we’ll have to wait until June 15 for more information.

Shiny Pichu obtainable until March 25th

Gold and Silver meant to be last Pokémon titles

The president of the Pokémon Company has recently revealed that Gold & Silver were intended to be the last titles in the Pocket Monster series.

New details about Scribblenauts 2 revealed

The latest issue of Nintendo Power has revealed new details about Scribblenauts 2 for DS.

The title will feature 120 new levels, 10,000 adjectives, refined controls and an improved camera system.

THQ shuts down Universomo

THQ has announced the closure of Universomo studios.

The folks at Universomo were responsible for the mobile phone version of de Blob and had just completed their first ever non-mobile phone game, Beat City, for the Nintendo DS.

Nintendo to publish Dragon Quest IX in Australia

Nintendo of Australia has announced they will publish the hit title Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies in Australia.

This new Dragon Quest game is the very first in the series to be released on a handheld and also exclusively on the DS. When the game was released in Japan, Famitsu magazine gave it 40/40.
