Konami has officially announced the next installment in the Castlevania series for the Nintendo DS. Titled Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, the game puts you in the role of an Ecclesia member. The Ecclesia is an organisation that exists to defeat Dracula and his evil minions.
While there is a new story, Konami is not resting on its laurels with the past games, although they have introduced an entire new attack system that will allow you to use over 100 different moves in over 20 different areas to defeat Dracula’s forces.
The game will also include Wi-Fi Connection support for multi-player as well as the trading of items and equipment. The game is due later this year.
A small Texan video gaming company has sued Nintendo for a patent infringement.
Allegedly, the patent infringement was issued when Nintendo were designing controllers for its Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Gamecube systems.
A federal jury found in favour of the prosecutors, Anascape Ltd. and have issued Nintendo a US 21 million dollar fine. Nintendo spokesperson Charlie Scibetta has announced that Nintendo will seek an appeal to lower the fine.
Microsoft was also sued for the same items, but settled out of court, adding to the now almost definite rumour of Microsoft developing a 360 motion controller.
With the recent debut of WiiWare on the North American Wii Shopping Channel, and the soon to come debut in Europe, several users have made notable complaints about the lack of space on the console to facilitate such a service, with games like Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - My Life As King taking up 287 blocks with more required for downloadable content. Some users have even reported resorting to the deletion of save games.
In a somewhat surprising move, Nintendo have spoken out on the matter. More inside.

Nintendo have sent out messages to users’ Wii systems speaking of a worldwide online tournament. Taking the form of a gate challenge on GBA Battle Course 3, and ending on the 24th of May. Also, this race is for Wii Wheels only.
An interesting move no doubt, especially considering many traditionalists prefer anything BUT the Wii Wheel when racing. Should keep them on their toes.
Although previously announced, THQ has let us know that it is bringing the Rare game of Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise to the Nintendo DS later this year. The game (which is based on the Xbox 360 version) will feature an entirely new control scheme, making use of the touch screen but also a ton of new features added exclusively for the DS version.
“Nintendo DS is the perfect platform for the Viva Piñata franchise because players can have direct interaction with the environment and their piñatas using the stylus,” said Bob Aniello, senior vice president of THQ worldwide marketing. “We are thrilled to introduce Microsoft’s critically-acclaimed Viva Piñata series to an entirely new segment of the gaming community.”
Like the Xbox 360 version, in Pocket Paradise you will inherit a neglected garden on Piñata Island and turn it into a piñata paradise by tending to all aspects of domestic pet keeping, such as cleaning the garden, growing and maintaining vegetation and caring for and breeding piñatas. The game not only features new creature species, but also a new tutorial and a large amount of full motion video. Rare piñatas can also be acquired by using the local Nintendo DS wireless connection.

Whilst Nintendo is yet to acknowledge the news “officially”, we are able to confirm through our usual ’sources’ (so we’re 99.9% sure) the release date for Super Smash Bros Brawl in Australia.
The release date is set for June 26th, one day before Europe. This means Brawl has finally gotten its release date 60 days after the launch of the game in the US, and by the time the game actually gets here, it will have been a 3 month, 18 day delay.
So some definitely awesome news for Nintendo fans Australia wide!
