Nintendo has done their yearly check-in with the hardcore fans and guess what they found out? That we all want better storage options! As part of his end of financial year briefing, Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata has spoken on how Mii’s for use in Wii games now must go through the same process of licensing as the Mario characters do for use in third party games. Iwata says this is to protect not only Nintendo’s image but the entire Mii brand. For example, Nintendo probably would not allow 3rd Parties to use the Mii’s in anything violent. Now that every reasonable Mario Kart fan has spent every waking hour for the last few weeks honing their skills with the new game, their efforts may pay off! Nintendo have launched worldwide Mario Kart Wii tournaments, with new competitions launching every few weeks. Players can compete in the first comp, which involves racing the new Mario Circuit in a VS race and trying to get the best time possible. Although there are no (apparent) prizes for the winners, you will be ranked against the rest of the world, and future tournaments will involve different tracks, obstacles and rules. Check the Mario Kart Channel on your Wii to start!
When you’ve completed the course to the best of your ability, let us know how good you are on the forums!

So while the company may not be at the Convention Centre, a presentation in a hotel room or similar may still be on the cards. Apart from the date and location, the makeup of this year’s E3 has remained a mystery. More as it happens.
Thanks to our friends at the Australian Classification Board, it has been revealed that Australia, along with Europe, will be receiving the localised version of the Shaberu! DS Oryouri Nabi (aka Cooking Navi). Titled here as “Cooking Guide: Can’t Decide What to Eat?”, the “game” is basically an interactive cookbook / cooking tutor hybrid using the multimedia functions of the Nintendo DS. The program sorts recipes by keyboard, genre, calorie count, cost, settings and simplicity, or you can even look up how to make an entire meal and see what goes with what. More inside
