Nintendo have just launched a new channel for the Wii, which is looking to be another Japan-only channel. Joining the TV Guide Channel which was launched exclusively there not too long ago, the new channel allows users to order pictures or picture books for a sum through the Wii console.
Nintendo and FujiFilm have joined forces on this venture to offer the services, which cost 30 yen per printed image, and 1,575 yen for a photo book. But the best part about the channel is the ability to get Mii Business Cards printed! That’s right, you can take your very own Mii (or mock Mii) and slap it on a business card for printing. The chances of the channel arriving outside Japan are slim, but it doesn’t stop it from being awesome!
Nintendo Australia has today announced that the Wii has now become the fastest selling videogame system in Australia to reach the 500,000 mark.
Previously, Sony’s Playstation 2 was the undefeated champion, reaching 500,000 units in 107 weeks. The Wii, however, has cut the previous record by 23 weeks less, meaning it made it to 500,000 units in just 84 weeks since its launch within Australia.
Nintendo Australia claim that the success of the Wii is thanks to its appeal with both gamers and non-gamers. With the console offering titles such as Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii, a broader audience has been adopted during the Wii’s life.
