Transformers Animated

Tag: DS NewsMr_M @ 10:45 pm

It looks like the DS has another great exclusive in the works- Transformers Animated!

According to IGN, the game is being developed for the DS by A2M, and is a 2D platformer that requires you to solve puzzles by utilising each character’s unique abilites. Sounds a bit like The Lost Vikings… except The Lost Vikings didn’t have driving sections in between stages!

Transformers: Animated is set for an October release.

Coloured wrist straps! Yay!

Tag: Nintendo News, Wii NewsPrattP @ 5:59 pm

Those Wii Remote coloured wrist straps that were revealed not too long ago have finally made an appearance. The straps which are either sold separately for about $3AU each or in a pack of four featuring all colours for about $10AU will go on sale in Japan this September. They come in blue, green, pink and white. So while other websites can report hardware models, new games and features for their consoles, Nintendo gives us straps – because they like making us smile. House of the Dead: Overkill - Trailer and boxart!

Tag: Wii NewsPrattP @ 5:08 pm

Sega mentioned they would announce a new game at Leipzig for Wii and have came through on that promise, releasing via YouTube a sneak peak of “the hardcore you’ve been waiting for”; and that is a new House of the Dead title called “House of the Dead Overkill”. In a trailer that seems almost aware of how B grade it is, plenty of gameplay is shown off along with all the blood, mutants, boobs, zombies, snakes, and violence one would expect from a zombie thriller. The game is due in 2009, and we’re sure we’ll see more of it in the upcoming days. Trailer, boxart and press release inside.

Wii may receive Capcom vs. Tatsunoko

Tag: Nintendo News, Wii Newskksl1der @ 9:43 pm

In a translation thanks to Google, it has been revealed that Capcom may give Wii owners the chance to experience the title, Capcom vs. Tatsunoko.

The game is a three-dimensional fighter that will utilize the balance board and involves the Capcom franchise facing off against the well known anime franchise, Tatsunoko.

Whilst this game may come to the Wii, it is still unknown as to whether or not it would ever be localised. The main reason it may not be localised is because the characters from the Tatsunoko franchise are only known within Japan.

Keep checking back for the latest news on Capcom and Capcom vs. Tatsunoko.

Wii MotionPlus is not exclusive to Nintendo?

Tag: Nintendo News, Wii NewsPrattP @ 10:37 pm

It is indeed true. The company that makes the MotionPlus accessory, InvenSense, has told Eurogamer that the relationship with Nintendo is not exclusive.”Of course we’re incredibly pleased - delighted would probably be a better adjective - that Nintendo approached us… but it’s not an exclusive relationship,” says ‘bigwig’, Joe Virginia. “I can’t get into details about other folks that are interested in this technology, but as you might imagine of course there is more interest out there.”

Nintendo surely has the money to buy the company, or exclusivity rights, so with rumours of a Wii Remote clone for Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3’s ’sixaxis’, should they really risk this? Or in the end does it really matter?

MR_M DOES GO3

THE CONSUMER EXPO - ROCK BAND, AND SOME OTHER THINGS

I must admit, after what had happened in the week leading up to GO3 I thought I’d be writing some mock article about how lame GO3 was. But, truth be told, I ended up going and it turned out to be totally awesome. So I guess in all fairness to the organisers and the people working there, I should start by saying why my experience with GO3 was totally cool, before doing a mock on how lame the conference (probably) was. So let’s begin…

Okami Wii not making the cut sales-wise

Tag: Wii NewsPrattP @ 10:06 pm

While Capcom have had great success with the Resident Evil 4: UC Wii Edition port, the Okami Wii port has not faired as well, almost mimicing its PS2 predecessor in the sales department. A game which deserves the same sort of sales RE4 has received, Okami Wii has only sold 280,000 copies between the US & Europe. The outlook for a sequel is also grim with a Capcom employee announcing on their official blog that more copies will have to sold before Capcom even considers a sequel.

Perhaps you overlooked Okami when it released? If you’re stuck for a game to play it’s one third party game on the Wii that deserves your cash. A TNB review of Okami Wii will be up this weekend. Stay tuned.

First third party Balance Board revealed

Tag: Nintendo News, Wii NewsPrattP @ 10:01 pm

Up until now, we in Oz Land have had third party accessories for everything on the Wii except for Wii Remotes and the Balance Board. With this latest announcement, you can now scrub the Balance Board off the list, as a third party has announced a new Balance Board for the Wii. While you can’t buy Wii Fit separately, you can still get the board for any number of other third party games that support it, such as Skate It or Family Ski. This “version” also this includes an LCD screen and speaker for announcing and displaying one’s weight. So it begs the question: would you really pay just under the Wii Fit price for an accessory or pay a little more for something official, and a bonus game?
