Three NES titles have been released on the Virtual Console today. They are Castlevania 3, Devil World and Ghosts ‘N Goblins.
All three titles are available to download from the Wii Shop Channel for 500 points each.
There is no doubt that the Nintendo DS is popular, and even in Australia one console seems to be in at least one household that you know. But with success comes piracy and Nintendo Australia is rightfully not too happy with pirates here in Australia and has called upon help from the Australian Federal Police. Australians have followed in the footsteps of the rest of the world by purchasing R4 and other flash cards.

We’ve been sent word (and it’s not a rumour) that Nintendo is opening a Nintendo Store here in our very own country. The store will be located in Melbourne on Swanson Street (above EBGames) and has been described to us as a “lounge” type store.
So readers in Melbourne should perhaps head down and see what is brewing! While we don’t expect anything on the level of the World Store in New York City, who would’ve thought a Nintendo store would end up opening in Australia? Times are certainly changing.
GAF poster MiketheBSG has had more than $26,000 of electronic items stolen from his home. Nintendo has assisted the man by restoring 228 Virtual Console and 30 WiiWare games to his new Wii.
MiketheBSG said, “By the way, Nintendo, if you don’t know yet, has the greatest customer service ever.”
Nintendo’s support in this situation has proven once again that their customer service is top quality.
After a couple of years “off” the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo will return to the Los Angeles Convention Center in all its pre 2007 glory. That means big booths, big budgets, booth babes and all the madness that is E3.
Michael Gallagher, CEO of the ESA says that “Video games are the fastest growing and most compelling sector of the entertainment industry. And, this upgraded event will reflect the growth, innovation and excitement of our industry.”
Well isn’t that good news!? I dunno about you, but booth babes are the winner for me.

Firmware update 3.3 has been released for the Nintendo Wii today. The update has changed the name of Wii Points to Nintendo Points in the Wii Shop Channel. This change has occurred because the Nintendo DSi and its download service will be released next month in Japan.
Those with Freeloaders can expect to be blocked out if they upgrade to the latest firmware, so it is advised to hold off until a patch is released.
A fan remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus is currently in the development for the PC. The title will feature updated visuals, animations, music and abilities.
The demo has just been released and is titled as Metroid: Confrontation. Confrontation places Samus in a virtual reality training session.
The demo of Metroid: Confrontation can be downloaded from the Project AM2R website.
Ah, the old E3: The big stages. The fancy lights. The booth babes. The roaring of the crowd as one fantastic surprise is revealed after another. The booth babes. The thousands of people sandwiching you from all sides. Yes, it was practically every gamer’s dream to attend the show. But then they made a few changes and E3 as we knew it was gone. A bedtime fairy-tale for our children. Many claimed that this year’s E3 was to be the last - that E3 was dead. We caught news of E3 limping on for one more year and groaned. Continue reading.

A recent interview with Vicarious Visions’ Decades development team has revealed the Nintendo DSi will not stop the production of future hand-held Guitar Hero.
The producer David Nathanielsz confirmed the continuation of the Guitar Hero series on the Nintendo DS with the following statement, “I’ll tell you we’re very excited about the DSi. We’ve seen the news and are excited about the capabilities of that system and really excited to hunker down here and look at ways we can support it.”
Owners of Guitar Hero: On Tour may be wondering if the original grip will be compatible with future Guitar Hero games on the DSi, but unfortunately no information in relation to this was discussed during the interview.
