Flip out like a Ninja… with your stylus!
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, one of the most interesting DS releases of the year, has already been reviewed by a few gaming magazines and websites, and the current consensus is very positive.
In the beginning, Ninja Gaiden garnered a lot of interest for it’s technical aspects. Holding the DS sideways like a book (or a Brain Training game), the player gets to experience a fast-paced action game where all the fighting moves are controlled by the stylus. The game also contains impressive pre-rendered backgrounds to complement it’s 3D rendered characters.
It appeared to be a huge gamble, especially since it was Team Ninja’s first ever DS title, but it all seems to have come together, with many reviews praising the game for it’s great gameplay, spot-on touchscreen controls and spectacular graphics (by DS standards anyway). Metacritic, the website that collects various reviews to generate an average score, currently has Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword rated at 85%.
Needless to say, this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting DS releases of the year. It is set for a March 25 release in the states, with a tentative March June release for Australia. Rest assured, as soon as the game has a confirmed Australian release date, you’ll hear about it here on TNB!
