Nintendo Wii involved in man’s abduction!
China Daily newspaper has recently published a news piece on a young man by the surname of Yang, who faked his own abduction in attempt to purchase a Nintendo Wii with the ransom money.
The story begins with Yang’s parents originally refusing to purchase a Wii for him. This, however, resulted in Yang scheming a fake kidnapping with two older men, known only as Zhou and Pan. The local police launched investigations, and discovered that the kidnappers (and Yang at that matter) wanted 10,000 Yuan ransom, working out to AUD $1570. With this amount of money Yang would have had more than enough funds to pay off the two men, and purchase himself a Wii with both games and accessories.
Unfortunately for Yang, Zhou and Pan, all three of them were captured when they were withdrawing the money from an ATM.
Sure, in the past there has been a man stabbed at the GTAIV midnight launch, a man who killed his own 17-month old daughter for unplugging his XBOX whilst he was play Ghost Recon, but a man going to the extent where he needs to conspire a fake kidnapping in order to obtain a Nintendo Wii, that’s just too far.
