House of the Dead: Overkill - Trailer and boxart!

Tag: Wii NewsPrattP @ 5:08 pm

Sega mentioned they would announce a new game at Leipzig for Wii and have came through on that promise, releasing via YouTube a sneak peak of “the hardcore you’ve been waiting for”; and that is a new House of the Dead title called “House of the Dead Overkill”. In a trailer that seems almost aware of how B grade it is, plenty of gameplay is shown off along with all the blood, mutants, boobs, zombies, snakes, and violence one would expect from a zombie thriller. The game is due in 2009, and we’re sure we’ll see more of it in the upcoming days. Trailer, boxart and press release inside.

Lego Indiana Jones Wii - Hands On

Tag: Nintendo News, Wii NewsQuatters @ 6:49 pm

Lego Indy comes to Wii! And every single other platform out there! So when we went to Activision, we got to play a game we were very excited about -  Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for a couple of years, you would have heard of and most likely played the Lego Star Wars games released over the last few years, and this is a continuation of that series, however in the Indiana Jones universe.

If you’ve played the Lego Star Wars games, this game will be very familiar, however rather than just swap Star Wars for Indiana Jones, they’ve actually improved on and added more to the games. The first thing you’ll notice is that there’s more focus on puzzle solving than the previous games. There are also traps ahoy so you need to keep your eyes open especially wide this time around, and there’s also quite a lot of focus on exploration. While the manipulation of Lego blocks will be familiar, now characters also have items that can be picked up and discarded which are also needed to solve puzzles. Shovels are needed to dig up items and steer boats, wrenches can fix machinery, guns can be acquired off enemies, and last, but not least, you can even get a rocket launcher. This was just in the space of the first two levels of the game, so we imagine there are many more items to come. More inside.

A 3rd Castlevania DS!!

Tag: DS News, Nintendo NewsQuatters @ 5:42 pm

A 3rd Castlevania game is currently in development for the DS by Konami with a predicted release for late 2008. The first two games, Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin had great reviews and were well recieved by the public.

This game looks to have abandoned the more manga stylings of the previous two games and the art style looks more like traditional Castlevania games such as Sympthony of the Night.

More interestingly if you look in the leaked images, the menu screen has what looks like a “Wii” option. Rumour abounds on what the Wii connectivity could be, but here’s hoping for a Wii Castlevania, where the Wii-mote would be used as a whip!
