Shrek: Ogres and
 Dronkeys (DS)

Babies. A burden on society or a welcome change in our lives? With Shrek: Ogres and Dronkeys you don’t have a choice – the babies are here to stay.
Shrek: Ogres and Dronkeys gives handheld gamers the chance to train, play and explore with their mischievous new friends on wild adventures throughout the eventful fairytale world of Shrek.
The game plays in a Nintendogs-esque style so you know what to expect. For starters, you have to train, play with and care for one of three playful Ogres and one of the five Dronkeys from the Shrek movies. Then by opening them up to new situations, like playing with a ball for example, that raises the Ogre and Dronkeys’ points level, which then further unlocks toys and items etc in the game for them to play with.
It is a very simple game in essence with a very simple premise, and after completing objective after objective there is not much more to do, as seasoned gamers will quickly get bored with throwing a rattle to a baby ogre.
On top of playing with the babies, you need to also wash them, feed them and take them outside so what may become boring for older gamers, this may provide quite a bit of fun for the younger demographic, of which this game is clearly aimed for.
The graphics are OK, definitely sufficient for the type of game it is, but polygons are noticeable with jaggy items and objects here and there.
All in all, it must be known this game is intended for kids. It does what it set out to do quite well, and if you are looking for a Christmas present for a younger member of the family, this is a game you should be sure not to miss.
