What you thought about  Yu-Gi-Oh! GX SC

By Natasha on Wednesday, 9/10:

I reckon these games deserve to be shunned from society. Yu-Gi-Oh! is so outdated. Seriously, move on.

What is this game? I've never heard of it - obviously for a good reason it seems.

I agree completely. I had a Yu-Gi-Oh! game back on PS1 (I think the first one released) and I noticed all you did was read what people were saying. Rex, ummm... Kaiba.... Joey....Weavel-Bug guy, other than play the game, no walking or exploring. Would have thought that had changed though... Obviously not much.

Text Box: Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller (DS)
The life-support machine has barely remained on over the past few years for poor old Yu-Gi-Oh!, and now Konami have added to the mix what this franchise desperately needs - a little bit of innovation now the craze has passed. But is a little bit of innovation enough to revive a series? Let’s break it down.
The only license slightly close to giving the Pokémon empire a run for its money, was the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. And now after the huge fad of the cards and TV series has died off, in its wake it has left a myriad of different games. So today, we are presented with Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller for the Nintendo DS.
Many people would argue after playing the game that the Nintendo DS has given the game instant innovation, and in some respects this is true. The battling system is completely deck based, with all monsters from the series returning in 3D, making you feel like you are really “summoning” them. The graphics are quite satisfying and are ultimately suffice for the Nintendo DS’ graphical capabilities. The in-game music is not too bad, and you can also battle anybody around the world with the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. The main storyline is a little too text heavy for my liking however the game does balance itself out.
On the whole, Yu-Gi-Oh! GXSC is a decent game for anybody who once enjoyed the battling system of the old Yu-Gi-Oh! craze, with a few little innovations thrown in as well.
